Friday Night New Wave returns at 8 p.m. Eastern for three hours of 80s music that legally qualifies as a personality trait. It’s mostly listener requests, which means at any moment the show could pivot from polished chart ambition to a song that sounds like it was recorded in a thoughtful basement. We don’t control it. We simply guide it gently with a flashlight.

This week’s Spotlight Artist is Art of Noise — a group that looked at traditional instruments and said, “What if… no?” Tape edits. Samples.
